Activision is once again tooting Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4’s horn, and with good reason.
According to the publisher, Black Ops 4 made over $500 million during its three-day launch weekend. That’s half a billion dollars. That’s almost certainly the biggest launch weekend of any video game this year.
After all, one of the biggest games of the year was Far Cry 5 and it only earned $310 million across its entire launch week. Avengers: Infinity War brought in $258.2 million domestically on its first weekend, making it the top opening weekend of any film in history (and pulled down $640.9 million globally.)
In other words, $500 million is a lot of money. Half a billion dollars is a lot of money, so it’s no wonder that Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 broke a bunch of digital sales records at launch. It was a successful launch.
